ABOUT

The Chase Brock Experience is a Brooklyn-based contemporary dance company dedicated to developing and presenting the work of choreographer Chase Brock.  Mr. Brock aims to create a compelling and unique body of work, significant for the melding of exceptional dance performed by a multi-faceted collection of dancers, the commissioning of original scores from outstanding contemporary composers, a strong focus on placing dance in fully considered visual environments, the use of live music whenever possible and the regular participation of artist from a broad range of media.

  • “It's a little dangerous to call your Company 'The Chase Brock Experience.'  It implies that an experience will be had, and that said experience will somehow involve a quintessential Chase Brock-ness.  In face this turns out to be, more or less, true.”

    The New York Times
  • “CBE’s combination of toe-tapping beats, Broadway-bedazzled quirkiness, and technical prowess left its Wilmington audience breathless with wonder.”

    The Seahawk
  • “The theatrical steps are punctuated by flashes of delicate technical elegance. It’s an appropriate example of Chase’s work–a swirl of stylistic energy and serious precision, simultaneously indebted to animated musical theater, formal ballet and modern dance.”

  • The Chase Brock Experience is proud to announce it’s upcoming performance at the annual Chatham Dance Festival at PS21 Chatham. Set in an apple orchard in the foothills of the Berkshires, PS21 Chatham presents their concert every August.

The following works will be presented:

Splendor We only partially Imagined premiered in 2015. Broadwayworld.com describe it as “a zen, highly kinetic and colorful piece that shifted from a slower romantic pace to energetic tribal rhythms while finding joy and delight in every movement.”

    Whoa, Nellie!
“has a good time with the wide-ranging pastiche of Nellie McKay’s album Obligatory Villagers.” – The New Yorker.
“strutting and wiggling to hail of witty wordplay”The New York Times

Mission Implausible, which is “set to a witty score by Joshua Rosenblum, suddenly displays Mr. Brock’s talent for stylized showbiz mayhem.” – The New York Times

The Song That I Sing; or, Meow So Pretty is a rippling dance to the songs of The New Christy Minstrels. Equal parts Blue Ridge and Brooklyn, this restless, sexy, strummy work employs a dance mash-up of tap, finger-tutting, clogging, hip-hop, square dance, step dance, jumpstyle and jazz.
